The Leighton Solution.

Leighton has provided services for several school properties for this District, including this new high school.

We determined that near surface eolian deposits were unsuitable for support of structures, structural fill or hardscape, in the current loose and dry in-situ condition.

Recommendations were provided within proposed building footprints, that loose and dry sands should be over-excavated, wetted to at or slightly above optimum moisture, and then placed and compacted in lifts. Alternatives which would impact the construction cost were also provided such as the use of geogrid with removal depths decreased.
