COVID-19: Leighton Remains Committed to Safely Serving Our Clients

Dear Valued Clients and Partners,

COVID-19 has required us to shift the way we work and live as well as how we interact with one another. Here at Leighton, we are focused on protecting the health and safety of our employees, clients, partners, and the communities we serve. Under the Essential Businesses and Critical Infrastructure exemption, Leighton offices and laboratories remain open and our field operations are ongoing and active.

You can be confident that our staff are available to continue to support your projects. We’ve taken steps to improve communication and remote access capabilities companywide to provide our staff with full access to project documents, email, and teleconferencing and virtual meeting resources in order to remain responsive to client needs and adhere to project schedules and deadlines.

While we are committed to maintaining the continuity of our business operations in the office and in the field, we have implemented increased safety measures companywide. Below are some of our current best practices:

Our Health and Safety Administrator is working with Project Managers to amend project health and safety plans (HASPs) with COVID-19-specific safety protocols.

  • Project Managers are requiring our partners (subcontractors, laboratories, etc.) to have COVID-19 safety measures in place prior to entering a project site or to adhere to Leighton’s or Leighton’s clients’ policies, whichever is stricter.
  • On our job sites and in our facilities, employees are to maintain the 6 feet of social distancing as well as follow all client- and jobsite-specific requirements.
  • Employees who are experiencing any symptoms (fever, chills, cough) are asked to stay home and to not show up at any job sites, but to notify their supervisor and seek medical attention. Employees are to stay at home if they know or think they have been exposed to someone with COVID-19.

Leighton continues to monitor and maintain compliance with local, state, and federal COVID-19 guidelines as well as client requirements during this unprecedented and evolving situation. We will assess any new guidelines that impact our business, adapt to the changes, and modify work and safety protocols. We will communicate any such changes and updates to our employees, clients, and partners, as appropriate.

Again, Leighton continues to be open for business and is committed to providing high-quality services to safely support our clients’ projects.

For any questions or concerns or even recommendations, please contact your Leighton project manager via his or her email or office/cell phone.

Be Safe,
Terrance Brennan
